I made this recipe a couple of days ago with a couple of minor changes.
First I like a 50/50 mix of grd. beef and Italian sausage so I used a pound of each. I didn’t have a red pepper so I used all green and adjusted seasonings for extra meat, other than that followed the recipe as written.

For the sauce I used crushed and whole San Marzano tomatoes and broke the whole ones with a wooden spoon while cooking, didn’t have marjoram so I left it out, other than that it was per the recipe.

My wife doesn’t like wet or messy sandwiches so she had it with angel hair pasta and loved it. I had the sandwich on my homemade sub rolls with sliced mozzarella.

We are both 63 years old and I do all the cooking and I think this might be one of the best meatball sandwiches I’ve made or had.

    Having more tonight over pasta.

    Thanks for a great recipe
