Hi Dave! Love your recipes. My friends went crazy for your colorado chile. The BEST! Going to try the burritos for Super Bowl. Wondering if I can freeze the tomatillo sauce? Lots to do, so would like to make in advance if possible. Tx!

      Hi Cathy,

Thanks for letting me know about the Chili Colorado, that’s fabulous!

And, yes, you can make the tomatillo sauce ahead of time and freeze it. Just be sure to put it in your fridge to thaw out a few days in advance πŸ™‚

Note: you can also use the sauce as a dip.

Happy Superbowl and lets hope for a great game!

Is this something I could do in the crock pot or would that cause the meat to become too soft and water logged?

      Hi Brandy,

Yes you can make this in a crock pot. I haven’t made it that way but it is definitely possible.

You won’t need as much water and I can’t be sure how long to cook it so you’ll have to play it by ear. You’ll want to add the veggies about 2/3’s of the way through the cooking process.

My guess is it will take about 3 maybe 4 hours. Also, to keep it from getting “water logged” you may have to transfer your cooked chicken to a large pan at the very end to evaporate any excess liquid.

If you decide to do it in your crock pot could you come back an leave another comment on how it worked out? I’m sure there are others here that can benifit from your knowledge πŸ™‚

Hope that helps and Happy Cooking!
